Introducing the RyanBuildsWheels XC Bomber – a high-end, handbuilt and custom XC mountain bike wheelset. Designed to be fast, light and reliable, the XC Bomber is a customisable wheelset that’s perfect for XC riders and racers and is reliable enough to keep you racing all season long.

Rims

The XC Bomber features some of our favourite top-end components, including the awesome DT Swiss XR391 rim which weighs just 415g / 440g each depending on wheel size. With a 25mm internal width, they’re perfect for wide tyres.

For riders using tyres below 2.2″, the XC Bomber can be built with the lighter-again DT Swiss XR361 for a strong, lightweight and zippy XC wheelset.

All wheels come equipped with two layers of high-end tubeless tape, professionally installed free of charge.

Hubs

The RyanBuildsWheels XC Bombers come with a choice of hubs, our favourite being the brand-new Hope Pro5. UK-manufactured, the Pro5 is unbeatable in all conditions, super reliable and can be easily serviced. 108 POE as standard, e-bike ready Steel freehubs bring a sturdier 54 POE internal setup to the party.

We also offer Bitex hubs with 6-pawl freehub and TPI-sealed bearings throughout. They are weatherproofed for maximum durability and equipped with large flanges, increased bearing sizes, and a sturdy freehub body for a stiffer wheelset.

Spokes

The XC Bomber’s spoke options allow for fine-tuning to fit any rider’s needs.

Butted spokes, such as the Sapim D-Light, offer performance and longevity at a lower cost, making them an ideal choice for light riders below 75kg or those with excellent line choice and technical ability.

The Sapim Race is an excellent all-around spoke option for riders of all weights and abilities.

For those looking for a truly performance-focused wheelset, the Sapim CX-Ray offers even further weight savings and exceptional fatigue life.

Nipples

Nipples come in a range of colours, including full stealth black, bright anodized colours, or custom-coloured highlights on either side of the valve to make these wheels uniquely yours.
